Violence

History of Salvation
& Praise
Salvation & Praise Ministries began as a vision in August, 1987. The original vision was that of an orphanage type
ministry for the benefit of misplaced parents or children. But in 1995 the vision was
renewed by God with the instruction that it was time for the ministry to be
birthed. With a task force of five core visionaries, Salvation & Praise Ministries was incorporated in March,
1998. In 1999, ministry homes were introduced to the plan. The plan calls for a
network of ministry homes run by mature, caring, and committed Christian couples.
Mission
"To provide a nurturing family-like setting for abandoned, widowed, abused or
homeless people of all ages. The resources of the : organization will be
used to provide all those residing under Salvation & Praise Ministries, Inc. with
safe and secure harborage during which time they will receive counseling,
education (both biblical and academic), and the skills necessary for them to
lead independent, Christ centered lives."
Vision
The vision is based upon the scripture from the Holy Bible taken from Proverbs
14:26, "In the fear of the Lord there is a strong confidence, and His
children will have a place of refuge."
Establishing Families
Due to the rising number of families affected by violence, tragedy, drugs,
alcohol, displaced fathers and mothers, and teen pregnancy, the result is
orphaned, widowed, abandoned, abused, and homeless people of all ages. Our
current social systems can't keep up with the demand or meet the needs of the
"orphaned". Salvation & Praise Ministries is responding to this
shortage by providing a place of refuge for the abandoned and abused, and
ministering to their special needs with a special dedication to children
affected with the AIDS/HIV virus. Our ministry homes provide a safe secure, and
Godly place of refuge in a loving family environment. Our goal is to relieve the
suffering of the abandoned and abused , and to assist them in establishing their
own family or restoring them to their former families. All our ministry home
parents receive training after a lengthy interview process. These parents will
receive ongoing training and support from qualified specialists in the treatment
of children affected by drugs, alcohol, physical & emotional abuse,
developmental delays, and the parenting of high risk children, while rebuilding
the lives of families with special needs. Our ministry parents are chosen based
on experience and special qualifications. All are born again Christians under
the covering of a local church, and are expected to live Christ centered, holy
lives.
Adoptions
Some parents may decide to release their children for adoption as a loving
option. Salvation & Praise Ministries will provide adoption counseling,
support and adoption referrals.
